Led by Stephen Bick, director of the Schola Cantorum at All Saints Catholic College and Director of Music at St Elizabeth of Portugal Parish, Richmond, this online CPD session outlines the practical and strategic considerations behind developing liturgical singing in secondary schools. This session is aimed at secondary school music teachers, choir leaders or anyone in charge of planning, selecting and delivering music within collective worship in school, and in particular those who may be looking to start a new choir or grow an existing choir with a liturgical remit.
In this session we will explore:
Recruitment and retention
Repertoire
Planning music for concerts and Masses
Financial sustainability
This event is primarily aimed at secondary school teachers working in the Archdiocese of Southwark, but others are welcome. Non-Catholics who work in Catholic schools are especially welcome, and individual support and consultation is available after the session by arrangement.
