Join us for an evening of music including classical, music theatre and timeless classics performed by duo Katya Schneider and Jelena Makarova.
This very special Concert at Christmas will feature accomplished musicians Katya and Jelena and will also be an oppurtunity for their young students to perform a number of pieces in St Katharine's historic chapel.
Arrive from 6:30pm for a 7pm start
Our Yurt Cafe will be open late, serving hot drinks, wine, beer and cocktails.
Jelena Makarova trained as a pianist at the Lithuanian Music Academy and the Royal Academy of Music in London. She won a number of prizes including 3rd prize at the Marlow International Concerto Competition. Jelena has had master classes with such world famous pianists as Pierre Laurent-Aimard, Paul Lewis, and Roger Vignoles. Her performances include recitals at the St. George's Hall in Bristol, St Martin-in-the-Fields and St. John's Smith Square. Jelena also performs regularly with Soprano Jessica Summers and she is now pianist for Trio Sonorite. She is also an educator for THAMES.
Katya Schneider is a classical pianist and winner of completions in Paris as a soloist and duo with Diana Zandberga. Katya has collaborated with David and Inna Power, Ivan Moroko, performed with Olga Adamovich, Irina Tutt, Sofia Tselepidou and Rita Siegmann, and has appeared in concerts at Wilton's Music Hall, Rosslyn Hill Chapel, Russian Federal Agency "Rossotrudnichestvo" and 'Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall'. Katya is a versatile musician and in addition to her academic classical piano repertoire, also performs at gigs as a singing pianist in evergreen, swing, American and Eastern European ballad genres.
