Join us for ‘Colours of the Earth - Pigment to Paint’, a unique and immersive workshop where you will have the opportunity to create paint and take home a set of natural and homemade watercolours!
This workshop is dedicated to artists, creatives and naturalists. Drawing on the ancient River Thames and surrounding soil as a material resource and a pool for creativity, participants will learn how to transform ordinary river rocks and soil into watercolour paints. Enjoy the alchemy and labour involved in the paint-making process through grinding, sifting, and mixing pigments. Once pigments are prepared, participants will be exposed to the anatomy of paint - pigments and natural binders. At the end of the workshop, participants will have fun with their new set of paints and work together to produce a collaborative painting.
