Dire Straits founder member, John Illsley and his band, including ex D.S .guitarist Phil Palmer performi the music of Dire Straits- including Money for Nothing, Tunnel of Love, Sultans of Swing, Walk of Life, Romeo and Juliet and Brothers in Arms
John also has 4 solo albums and 2 live albums to his credit, the latest “Testing the Water “ was released in 2014 . His band toured in Holland, Germany and the UK in 2014 /15 recreating the music of Dire Straits and playing songs from John’s new album.
John says “There is such a wealth of great material from all those years of playing with Dire Straits, I still love playing these songs, my band does a great job of keeping the legacy alive and I know how this music should feel”

Though he was at Glastonbury to promote an album recorded with his new band, Dire Straits bassist John Illsley still found time for a few classics during his Saturday afternoon performance at the Acoustic Stage. Looking every bit like a rock n roll Bill Nighy, Illsley launched into a ferocious rendition of Sultans of Swing, it could have been 1978 all over again.
