Ciyo Brown Presents an Evening with Roselie Niclasson

Roselie is a Swedish born Soul/neo soul singer/songwriter who grew up in Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden. The daughter of two opera singers, Roselie was surrounded with all types of music from an early age, but she found her passion in Soul, Hip Hop, Jazz and gospel- listening to the likes of Stevie Wonder, Angie Stone, Rashaan Patterson and Nat King Cole.

Roselie started writing her own material from the age of 15, and was featured on a gospel album called 'Gospel Inc' at the age of 17.

At nineteen she moved to London to study music at City University. While studying, she started working with different producers developing her sound. Roselie writes all her own material and has also done many collaborations with other artists, such as Kevin Leo, Ade Omateyo (background singer for Amy Winehouse) and various producers. In 2009 Roselie also released a soulful house track on the label Blacksoul Records.

Roselie's versatile voice and hook filled songwriting soon made her a hit on the London live circuit, and was quickly recognised, making her a sought after vocalist for producers including Ruff N Tumble and Scratch Professor, the brother of UK soul singer Omar.

Roselie released an EP with 5 self-penned tracks with the title track "For the love of music", "makin' love" and "Chillin' with you", also being produced and arranged by Roselie.

Roselie is now working on her forthcoming album, while also performing live around the UK and abroad.
