Description

Award-winning heritage developer City & Country is hosting a prospective buyers’ mortgage clinic at The 1840, St George’s Gardens development in South West London on Saturday 28th January at 10am - 5pm, in partnership with mortgage broker, The Mortgage Brain.

With recent research finding that mortgage affordability is seen by potential homebuyers as the biggest barrier to buying a property[1]. This helpful event will offer hopeful buyers the opportunity to speak to expert mortgage advisors for advice and support about purchasing a home in 2023. Also on hand will be City & Country’s sales advisors to provide information about the latest phase at the development.

Jennifer Rhodes-Finch, Head of Marketing at City & Country, commented: “We appreciate that buying a home is one of the biggest investments anyone is likely to make, and therefore we want to offer potential buyers as much support and advice as possible. It is important they understand the current market situation and what is available to them, such as the reduction in stamp duty, with no stamp duty required from first-time buyers purchasing property under £425,000, and government schemes available to buyers of new build properties, including Deposit Unlock, which only requires a 5% deposit. I believe many may be surprised to hear what is available to them and the potential ability to buy is better than they may presume. We want to encourage anyone interested to come down and find out more!”

Michelle Beck, New Build Business Development Manager at The Mortgage Brain, added: “2023 has been off to a flying start with high enquiry levels from buyers firmly closing the door on the doom and gloom of last year. It is only a few weeks into the new year but we continue to see a large number of lenders still reducing interest rates for the customer, which added to the additional benefits of buying a new build such as lower utility bills, is encouraging. With thousands of products available it really is imperative that buyers talk to us – new build specialists.

“We are excited to be partnering with City & Country to provide advice and guidance on financial planning and mortgages. We welcome attendees to book a dedicated mortgage appointment with one of our fully qualified Mortgage Advisors, or just to simply pop in and have a chat.”

The multi-award winning The 1840, St George’s Gardens – a grade II listed building and former hospital - boasts a prime location between Tooting, Balham, Earlsfield and Wandsworth Common. Surrounded by over eight acres of private landscaped gardens, this development also enjoys great connections to the city. Both underground and overground stations are within easy reach with Tooting Bec Underground Station just a 12-minute walk away.[2] Beautifully restored to its former glory, this heritage conversion offers superior specifications and stylish living spaces. Combining period grandeur with contemporary style, the development boasts high ceilings, white stone kitchen worktops, along with a beautiful interior colour palette to match.
