Following the success of our intro to green woodworking course we happily present a short course in Green Wood Shrink pot making, in collaboration with the Pathhead Water mill Blaydon.
Located at the beautiful Pathhead water mill in Blaydon, this is a 5 hour workshop, designed to immerse you in world of green woodworking and produce your very own hand crafted Shrink Pot.
At a bargain price of £25, (FYI: £60+ elsewhere!) you will experience an intimate group session designed to get you started using basic tools. Our aim is to show you how to start green wood working at home with structured tuition to help you make wooden shrink pots with confidence.
The course is being run by a Whittle Dene CIC practitioner at the Blaydon Water Mill and will be outdoors under cover nestled in beside the old mill and grounds full of bird song. There you will find a welcoming Cafe where you can get a refreshing cup of morning coffee, practical instruction and helpful guidance to get you started.
We hope for it to be an inspiring day of hands-on learning and discovery centered around green woodworking and craft. You can try your hand at using the tools necessary to the trade as well as helpful hints on how to build your own green woodworking tools at home.
We understand from feedback on recent courses that there is a need to connect with fellow enthusiasts and so we will give you helpful sign-posts to local green wood festivals and fellow experts who can help you hone your skills in the areas that you are most interested in.
Tea, coffee and sandwiches are available for purchase in the Cafe, but please feel free to bring your own packed lunch and picnic in the mill grounds.
