CDY x WWW: Can Cyberdelics generate a new mental wealth? With Dr Tamara Russell and Jose Montemayor

From GBP 10.00

Location

Date

Feb 06 2019 18:30 - 20:00

Description

Join Visionary Artist and XR Developer Jose Montemayor Alba and Clinical Psychologist Dr.Tamara Russell as they dialogue a roadmap for the use of cyberdelics to generate mental wealth.

In a world where the unchecked development and use of technology has been blamed for the rise in mental health problems, can intentional, contextualized and ethical application of cyberdelic technologies be used to generate mental well-being and reap the benefits of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model? Can the poison be the cure?

This salon-style discussion will share the rationale for the timeliness, indeed urgency, of this work, and suggest how this technologically-mediated approach changes consciousness in beneficial ways from a neurocognitive perspective.

On the cusp of the next psychedelic renaissance, could this non-pharmacological alternative provide a safer route to self-transformation and healing? Are we living the realization of Terence McKenna’s prophecy that “The drugs of the future will be computers. The computers of the future will be drugs?”.

Thoughts, objections, observations and experiences to be shared....
