Cardboard Cities & Drumming - Led by Tom Morely
Inspired by our amazing view over the dynamic skyline of the London we will be working with the amazing Tom Morely and his Instant Teamwork crew to support a big group of children create a Cardboard Cityscape. Great architecture inspires and is a demonstration of human creativity but it is ultimately static. It is the activities it facilitates that give it life. Cathedrals and churches were built high, with stone walls for good acoustics, so songs would sound more heavenly there than in the wood-panneled ale houses! With spaces for 50 kids the team will enable the children to the lead the way and build the kind of city they want. We will give them bubble wrap, sticks, rope, sticky tape and paper – stuff that can be combined and of course, the grandaddy of them all, the one thing that will set off a child’s imagination like nothing else - the cardboard box. The group will then have an opportunity to create a Bold Kids Group City song and perform it with drums in front of their new cityscape.
About Tom: Tom is fascinated by the creative process and about sharing what he’s learned about art, rhythm and harmony over the past 60 years. From playing kit drums with the Art School band Scritti Politti in his 20’s, through songwriting in his 30’s, to studying psychology and facilitation in his 40’s, Tom eventually set up Instant Teamwork International in his 50’s.Tom’s style, developed working with teams as small as five to groups of five thousand, ignites people’s curiosity.
