Bullet tongue girl gonna show you now. Bullet tongue girl gonna tell you true.

BULLET TONGUE is the new production for The Big House and the first show to take place at our brand-new premises in a converted frame factory in Islington. The play tells a new and powerful story that aims to get to the heart of what life is like for young people involved in gangs.

Bullet Tongue is a story about a young girl’s struggle to find her voice and identity in the street gang world of London. The story centres around Bumper, who is involved in County Lines drug dealing. She feels she has something to prove in order to fit in and belong, because she has no real family at home to rely on, so she has to create her own family in gang life. The play takes us through the challenging and sometimes harrowing circumstances in which Bumper finds herself as she gets in deeper than she can cope with.

    AGE GUIDANCE: 16+

There will be scenes that some people may find challenging and explicit language throughout.

Please note that our new venue is in an unfinished state and is unfortunately not yet wheelchair accessible. This is a promenade show and audience members will therefore be standing for the majority of the performance.

There will be a bar serving drinks before and after the show.

Praise for previous Big House productions:

“Visceral storytelling. Shot through with moments of pure theatre, graced with vivid, moving performances by an excellent young cast. A stirring opening statement from this exciting new theatre group.” Jez Butterworth (Jerusalem)

“I’ve seen quite a lot of this sort of work with young people, but rarely anything so passionately or so brilliantly acted, and even more rarely so beautifully staged.” Michael Coveney

“They were funny and incredibly moving. And at the end , the audience stood up and gave them a well deserved ovation. Because they were that good. Go see it.” Sir Lenny Henry CBE

“Within all of us there is a poem, within all of us there is a painting, within all of us there is a novel, within all of us there is a real expression of what we want to see of the world. And what The Big House does is open it up and bring it out. It’s wonderful. I loved every minute of it.” Rt. Hon. Jeremy Corbyn MP, Leader of the Labour Party
