Description
As part of the week long #BrightFriday campaign; your alternative to Black Friday, we are putting on an evening of thought provoking short films which question the impact of our throwaway culture.
The evening includes an introduction by Hubbub, films and designs by Brighton students, and Meghna Gupta’s award winning Unravel film:
In a small industrial town in Northern India, Panipat, hundreds of antiquated spinning mills recycle old, unwanted clothes from Western countries back into yarn. Unravel follows the clothes on a journey across India, revealing how Western consumption habits are seen on the other side of the globe.
Places are limited for this free film sharing night so please sign up early to avoid disappointment. There will be drinks and snacks for you to enjoy!
The film night is upstairs in the ONCA gallery.
This film sharing night is part of the #BrightFriday campaign, an initiative that aims to brighten up your Black Friday by creating the dream rather than buying it. There's all sorts going on to rekindle your love for what you've already got and have fun without stretching your purse strings. Go on, try something new! For more information go to www.hubbub.org.uk
