The class will run for 2 hours and cover all tools and materials, including fancy woods like oak, walnut, teak and pine. Along the way you will learn how to join, sand, stain and wax your box to a superb finish.
Come down for a Christmassy afternoon filled with craft, cookies and mulled wine.
ABOUT ALEXANDER BERCHERT: Alexander Berchert is a 29-year-old German sculptor. He moved to the UK in 2005 and received his Bachelor of Fine arts from the University of East London in may 2012. Berchert is fascinated by physics and the human ingenuity behind mechanics and mass-produced objects. He channels this energy through his vibrant and engaging kinetic sculptures. As an emerging Artist, he has taken part in several prominent exhibitions, including Kinetica, Daniel Pooles’s Curiosity Shop, Kinetica Fundraiser at Village Underground and many more.
Berchert is also a trained picture frame maker and has a strong passion for craft and fine woodwork, which becomes apparent in his most recent works, mixing traditional materials and techniques with playful intent and interactivity.
