With a focus on critique, creation and craft, the literary movement presents the next edition of Veranda, a series of experimental performance events centring Black British voices. The Spring Weekender instalment brings together some of London's most versatile poets from all corners of the city – Olivia Douglass (Slow Tongue, Palm as Portal), Victoria Adukwei Bulley (MOTHER TONGUES, Octavia) + Caleb Femi (former young people’s laureate for London, POOR + sxwks). They'll be joined by the Veranda house band, led by multi-instrumentalist Nathaniel Ricketts.
Curated & hosted by poet/educator Belinda Zhawi, writer/theatre-maker Malakaï Sargeant & writer/filmmaker Chima Nsoedo, expect an informal yet insightful evening of live performance and readings packed with laughs and deep hums; many lessons and many blessings.
