Zoe Francis Blue Town Trio feat. Jim Mullen & Ross Stanley

ZOE FRANCIS

Blue Town Project is a selection of some of the greatest bittersweet songs of the last century, - including, "The Meaning of the Blues", "A New Town is a Blue Town", "Spring Can really Hang You up the Most", "A Flower is A Lovesome Thing"," Daydream", "Who Will Buy", "Song For Elena", "Early Autumn", Lyrics which capture our moods, whether daydreaming, reminiscing, hopeful or heartbroken.

With two stellar musicians - Jim Mullen (a legend to guitarists around the world) and Ross Stanley - hammond organ (probably the most in-demand sideman on the British scene) they bring layers of harmonic colour to the pleasing melancholy in these stories by composers including Billy Strayhorn, Duke Ellington, Ennio Morricone, Lionel Bart, Johnny Mercer and Fran Landesman.

Jim Mullen

Jim Mullen, acclaimed guitarist is part of the elite list of world renowned first class musicians. His accolades and appearances over decades is too long to list and include featuring on the first three albums and touring with the "Average White Band".

Jim's collaborative work with the best in the industry led to his acclaim as joint leader of the British jazz funk band 'Morrissey-Mullen'.

Mullen went on to release three successful solo albums and continues to be a sought after musician both in his own right and through his work with other industry greats which include: Sir Paul McCartney, Claire Martin, Jocelyn Brown.

As part of an All-Star collective of musicians, Mullen recorded alongside special guests Jocelyn Brown, Hamish Stuart and Angelo Starr on the album "All About Music" produced by Sir Paul McCartney.

In 2014, he featured prominently on the Citrus Sun album, 'People of Tomorrow', produced by Incognito co-founder, Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick.

Mullen has won many British music awards including "Best Guitar" in the British Telecom Jazz Awards (1994, 1996 and 2000).

Ross Stanley

Celebrating and featuring the brilliance of the Hammond organ in Jazz, Ross's keyboard skills as a pianist are unparalleled and he continues to make waves in the world of jazz with his crossover and musical artistry as a top musician.

Ross’s musical skills have kept him in high demand, seeing him play with jazz names such as Will Vinson, Dennis Rollins, Guy Barker, Michael Janisch, Joel Frahm, Liane Carroll, Stan Sulzman, Steve Arguelles, John Paracelli, Bobby Wellins, Clark Tracey, as well as being a regular member of the Jim Mullen Organ Trio, the Mark McKnight Organ Quartet.
