Description

Every month at the charming vegan eatery that is the Gallery Cafe in London, people gather to watch live jazz and make art as it happens. It's called Blue in Green and this time it welcomes Topoľana, a jazz/folk fusion sextet led by flautist and singer Maria Rehakova. It brings together clarinettist Gustavo Clayton Marucci, saxophonist Sam Knight, pianist Charlie Bates, bassist Sam Ingvorsen and drummer Floyer Sydenham.

Topoľana plays compositions inspired by Slovak folk music. Maria writes all the music, taking inspiration from songs she grew up with dancing and singing in a Slovak folklore group. The band consists of top up-and-coming young jazz musicians on the London scene, all graduates from The Guildhall School of Music and Trinity Laban. They have performed in and around London and also toured Slovakia and Czech Republic.

A warm-up set will be provided by pianist Alex Chalstrey and friends, with the main set following from Topoľana. Some art paraphernalia is provided but attendees are welcome to bring their own sketchbooks and materials. £5 adv, £8 otd.

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.
