More... ‘Colour’ refers to both handmade and digital colour.Colour theory is the same for both, but of course using handmade or digital methods is quite different as is seeing what people have created in work can be quite different. There will be references to both in the learning materials. There will be a choice of working either with traditional art materials, digitally, or a combination of both.
Structure
The first half of the class will be focused on learning materials regarding colour and the second half on individual endeavours, reviews etc. determined by each student.
For the second half, you may want to have a review of some of your work or portfolio, get help with a project your working on, or ask questions you've encountered working with traditional art materials or digital methods. Generally, colour should be the focus of the day, though a particular question might not to colour. But the class can’t go off on long tangents regarding off-topic subjects.
If you don't have something to work on, I'll have colour projects you can choose from - either using paints or Photoshop and your laptop.
What to Bring
For the first half, no need to bring anything, though you may want to take some notes. For the second half, bring digital and/or 'real' materials you want to work with, though I'll have lots of art materials here too. Bring your laptop if you want to work on digital colour.
Committing to the class
With the small number of students, it won't be possible to accommodate enrolees who want to change to a different date. If you withdraw from a class up till 10 days before it runs, you'll get a refund of 50% of the class's cost. After that there won’t be a refund.
Flexible activities within our core topic
An advantage of a really small class is that people can bring up subjects related to the class topic that they have questions about or are interested in. Or we can modify an activity based on individual interests.
Class duration
If there are only 2 students in the class, it will probably end a half-hour early. If only one student is enrolled, the class will probably be cancelled and your money refunded.
If any questions please let me know. Best, Bill
