Description

Plans for lunch on Friday 21st April? Why not spend an hour feasting on political debate and inside tales from the founding of the UK’s newest and fastest growing political party? The Tunbridge Wells branch of the Women's Equality Party is delighted to host this event with Catherine Mayer, who in 2015 co-founded the party with her friend Sandi Toksvig. Catherine will be in conversation with Celine Thomas, our candidate for the Kent County Council (Tunbridge Wells South) - the first person to stand for the Women's Equality Party in our area. Celine and Catherine will chat about national and local politics and why it’s so important to get more women involved at all levels. Bestselling author Catherine will also talk about her new book Attack of the 50ft Women: How Gender Equality Can Save the World! and set out her vision of a totally gender balanced society that she calls 'Equalia'. Catherine and Celine will take questions from the audience and Catherine will also be raffling and signing a copy of her book for the winner.

Entrance is from 12:45 and the event will start at 13:00. Please feel free to bring your own lunch or grab a coffee and a bite at Manna Café on your way in. The tickets are free but a donation is always welcome.
