Leading Cornwall-based lutenist Ben Salfield regularly performs and gives masterclasses across Europe in up to a dozen countries every year. He has been hailed by international music critics as one of the foremost lutenists of his generation and his charismatic style of performance has given him a large international following.
In addition to his solo work, Ben also appears in various ensembles. He is thought to have had more column inches written about him than any other current lutenist, and has appeared on radio and television across Europe. Also known as a teacher, composer and promoter, he is the chief editor of lute music for Peacock Press, for whom he has completed around a dozen publications since 2013.
Tireless Ben Salfield has a reputation for completing nearly impossible feats of lutenistic endurance, including appearing in 5 countries during a 17-day road-trip tour in Europe, performing for 8-hours without a break in a charity play-a-thon, and appearing in two sell-out concerts in a single night!
