BEN SALFIELD in concert
Repertoire - Lute and vihuela music from the renaissance and baroque periods
Described in international media as “one of the most exciting lutenists of his generation”, Ben Salfield regularly performs and gives masterclasses at venues and festivals across the Continent.
“Each concert in this series will be in three parts", explained Ben. "One for each composer. I will begin with pieces by the Spaniard Luis de Milán, published in 1536; then some music from the early 1600s by the greatest English composer of his day, John Dowland. The third and final part will feature some of the most beautiful baroque repertoire by the amazing composer Sylvius Leopold Weiss, written in the first half of the 18th century."
The music will all be performed on the unique 10-course lutar.
