Ben & Dom biography

Ben & Dom (Ben See & Dominic Stichbury) are an a cappella singing duo from South London. Ben takes the high notes and Dom takes the low notes (most of the time). The intricate blend of their harmonies comes from a close friendship and shared love of singing together. Ben & Dom weave their voices around songs old and new, performing original material alongside new interpretations of folk songs. Their lyrics touch on friendship, nature and what it means for two men to sing together in this modern day.

Ben & Dom are part of the EFEx mentoring scheme for 21/22. They will be performing at Focus Wales, Cambridge Folk Festival & the EFEx showcase. In April 2022 the duo will launch their debut EP ‘Shoulder’ and will be performing the project around the UK. The duo are also working towards their first full length album for release in early 2023.

Both are experienced choir leaders & vocal arrangers. Ben currently leads the Nest Collective's Fire Choir as well as 3 community choirs, whilst Dom is the founder and leader of all male singing gangs Chaps Choir & Bellow Fellows.

AcaBella is a choir for women’s voices, started in 2010, with the aim of encouraging women to celebrate their natural voices, singing for pleasure and well-being. We enjoy singing songs from the African continent, gospel, and folk traditions.

Heart & Soul Singers started as a small group of people who wanted a gentle sing at the end of the day. Originally called Kitchen Singers – because they met in Keely’s kitchen – they meet in St. John’s Church Lounge and sing songs that aren’t always gentle!

MOSS (Men Only Singing Songs) rehearses fortnightly on Wednesday evenings singing jazz, blues, folk, and pop arrangements, they have performed at hotel functions, local community events and concerts. The highlight of 2019 was hosting a men’s singing workshop led by Dom Stichbury and the Chaps Choir, followed by an evening concert at St. John’s Church, Ben Rhydding.

Keely Hodgson is a composer, song writer, arranger and member of the Natural Voice Network

AcaBella and Heart & Soul Singers will join their voices, singing songs that they were learning before Covid arrived and songs learned since, a few of which were taught via Zoom and outdoors.

MOSS will be singing a new set of songs mostly learned since January 2022 and will also join their voices with the women – the first time in performance since our last concert in 2018!
