Samantha Whates

Scottish singer-songwriter Samantha Whates (UK / Rough Trade Records & Wonderfulsound) is a hugely respected figure on the folk & roots scene and has enjoyed both critical acclaim and radio play on the likes of BBC 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, Soho Radio, KCRW & Resonance FM, both for her solo releases and as part of PicaPica (Rough Trade Records).

With Scottish roots, transplanted into London’s soil in her teenage years, Samantha Whates is a cosmopolitan Celt with equal parts concrete and heather to her music. In her songs, you’re as likely to hear the breaking of day as you are broken hearts slowly mending. All shades of human experience are subtly blended.

Samantha’s delivery is smoothly Scottish to its core. Urban and urbane, you’ll hear the timeless qualities in her songs that reflect the existences of real-life which folk ought to possess.

“Cannot be praised highly enough” Folk Radio UK
“Rarely sounding less than stunning" music OMH

Ben & Dom

Ben & Dom
are a singing duo from south London. Ben takes the high notes and Dom takes the low notes (most of the time). The intricate blend of their harmonies comes from a close friendship and shared love of singing together. They weave their voices around songs old and new, performing original material alongside new interpretations of folk songs. Their lyrics touch on friendship, nature and what it means for two men to sing together in this modern day. (continues below)

'Beautiful heartfelt harmony' - Sean Cooney (The Young 'Uns)
     'Precision a cappella' - Tom Robinson (6Music)
'Songs to take you higher & deeper' - Stephen Taberner (The Spooky Men's Chorale)

Ben & Dom have taken their songs and voices around the UK, collecting festival appearances and completing a 20-date tour in 2022 to promote their debut album ‘His Head Lies Heavy’. (‘..incredibly well-crafted & beautiful’ – Folk London). They’ve opened for Tom Robinson, The Young Uns and regularly collaborate with friends & singers who share their love of voice & harmony.

Their debut EP ‘Shoulder’ (2021), written during the Covid-19 pandemic was well received by audiences and industry, (“Precision a cappella singing” - Tom Robinson, “An impressive debut” - Folking) with their songs featured on BBC 6Music & Radio 3 playlists.

Ben and Dom are experienced choir leaders and community musicians. Core to this collaboration is sharing their love of group singing and encouraging others to join their voices together in harmony. Their busy workshop schedule includes running the Cambridge Festival choir, courses at Halsway Manor and collaborating with choirs around the UK.

On their songs & singing
'a unique and beautiful performance… a moment to treasure' -Graham (Manchester)
'inspiring, and tears welling and delight' - Brendan (Brighton)
'two men offering..tenderness' - Andrew (Chester)
