From May to July, Bear Funny Comedy helps acts preparing for the World's largest Arts Festival, the Edinburgh Fringe, by offering its show to host 'Work in Progress'. You can see two shows, from professional acts that could be star names, up and coming comedians that we rate without the need to visit Scotland!
We retain our £5 and £10 pizza deal pricing and finish by 10.30pm, perfect for a school night. The setting is the Finsbury's lovely live room, so you can also enjoy cocktails, craft beers and handmade pizzas.

Edinburgh Comedy Award-nominated chap and star of Live at the Palladium, Live From the BBC and other stuff returns for another smash-hit show. He's five foot eleven, he hates other families' plates, and he had his 18th birthday party on a riverboat on the Thames so when people realised how boring it was they couldn't leave. ‘I’ve seen few shows that are funnier’ (Times). ‘For good quality gags per minute, there is no better comedian on the Fringe’ (Independent). ‘One of the most out and out hilarious shows on the Fringe’ ****1/2 (Chortle.co.uk).
Michael Stranney: Welcome To Ballybeg
As seen on ITV2, Michael Stranney (NATY winner, Chortle Best Newcomer nominee, BBC New Comedy Award finalist) presents the debut hour from his character Daniel Duffy. Daniel invites you to a tourist board presentation for his beloved village of Ballybeg – a curious Northern Irish backwater where the milkman brings his cow door-to-door every morning, where you can win a new husband in the annual raffle, and where the local hearse doubles as a minicab service. We are unable to offer refunds if you have specifically come to see one act on the bill, who does not perform come the close of the event.
