Join us for our last wine dinner of the year to celebrate what is known as one of Italy's greatest wines. Our Barolo Wine Tasting Dinner with Prunotto takes place at aqua shard in our stunning glass walled private dining room with views across London. Hosted by Luca Soldo, the brand ambassador for Prunotto, the event showcases some of the best Barolo wines paired with a dinner of contemporary British cuisine.
Also known as the King of Wine, Barolo is arguably the most famous wine DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) produced in the northern Italian region of Piedmont from the Nebbiolo grape variety. This grape is one of the first varieties to bud and last varieties to ripen with harvest taking place in mid to late October. The wines have a minimum aging requirement of 3 years and the area benefits from a continental climate, with an extended summer and autumn, perfect for producing top quality grapes.
Prunotto was founded as a cooperative in 1904 and is one of the very first producers to map single vineyards in the Langhe area in Piedmont. Bottle-aging is particularly important at Prunotto – all of the wines are released only when they are deemed ready to drink making them some of the best Barolo's available.
