Description

At Ubisoft Forward 2022, Ubisoft provided an overview of the franchise's future and revealed a number of new games and experiences that will be available in the upcoming years. Assassin's Creed Mirage, Assassin's Creed Codename Red, and Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe are the three brand-new games that were made public. While Codename Red and backrooms game were openly discussed by Ubisoft, Codename Hexe's gameplay was less so.

What Is the Hexe Codename in Assassin's Creed?

The second of two Assassin's Creed games that will be a part of the future Assassin's Creed Infinity platform is Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe. The first being Assassin's Creed Codename Red. The Assassin's Creed 15th Anniversary display, which took place during Ubisoft Forward 2022, featured Hexe.

The series' emblem, composed of tied twigs, was displayed in the reveal teaser hanging from a tree limb in the middle of a pitch-black forest. Although Ubisoft hasn't revealed much about the game, the name and teaser do provide some clues as to when and where it will take place.

What Time Period Does Codename Hexe Cover?

Although Ubisoft hasn't explicitly said when the game takes place, it's possible to deduce certain information about Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe from leaks, their official trailer, and the title. The word "Hexe," which means "witch" in German, may be used to denote both a location and a particular topic.

Witchcraft has a troubled past in European history, particularly in Germany. German Catholics staged widespread witch trials in the late 1500s and early 1600s, which resulted in thousands of deaths over a 50-year period. The largest of these trials, while there were others in between, were the witch trials in Trier (1587–1593) and Bamberg (1626–1631).

Codename Hexe will be unlike anything the series has attempted before, according to Ubisoft, which may indicate that the game will cover the entirety of this awful historical era. Alternately, they could decide to concentrate on a particular group of violent or significant trials.

When is the release date?

Codename Hexe appears to be the Assassin's Creed game that will require the longest wait for fans as of yet. The 2023 release of Assassin's Creed Mirage, a stripped-down homage to the original game, is expected to include some sort of post-launch support. The following release, Assassin's Creed Codename Red, is most likely going to have a life of its own.

Gamers who want to play Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe will probably have to wait until the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025. There will likely be some gap between each of these games because Ubisoft doesn't appear keen to oversaturate the video game market with Assassin's Creed titles.
