BABY IN VAIN - on stage 21:00
Baby in Vain present a technically proficient alloy of styles ranging from grunge inspired noise with heavy riffs and screeching vocals to emo-folk. Baby In Vain expertly lift you from the visceral to the philosophical. Drawing on themes around self-image, love and lust, risk-taking, abandonment and society their music is upfront, heartfelt and confrontational.
A trio from Copenhagen, Denmark formed in 2010 consisting of:
Lola Hammerich (vocal, guitar)
Andrea Thuesen Johansen (vocal, guitar)
Benedicte Pierleoni-Nielsen (drums)
After finding their feet in their early days the band released their first single ‘Machine Gun Girl/The Catcher in 2012 following up with four more singles and the first EP ‘For The Kids’ (Partisan Records) in 2016 followed up with, 2017’s debut album ‘More Nothing’ (Partisan Records)
With over two-hundred shows under their belt, Baby In Vain have toured Europe and the US extensively over the years as support for The Kills, A Place To Bury Strangers, Ty Segall and guitar icon Thurston Moore's band Chelsea Light Moving as well as a number of headline tour and two performances at Roskilde Festival in 2013 and 2018
‘See Through’ the band’s sophomore album, recorded in 2019/20 was released in November 2020 on the Danish Escho label against the vacuum of a global pandemic reveals a mature, uncompromising, confidently relaxed vulnerability. The children of the 21st-century draw strength from the children before them, forging their own splintered identities from the ruins and relics around them while never losing sight of the fact that making your noise, on your terms, is still the best first step in finding yourself and fixing your world in place. This performance sees Baby In Vain return to the UK for the first time since May 2018 and is one not to be missed.
DO NOTHING - on stage 20:00
Nottingham based four piece Do Nothing are characterised by the acerbic lyricism of vocalist Chris Bailey where every song feels like its own self-contained psycho drama. Their sound is equal parts Roxy-esque art rock and Ze/Celluloid records no wave.
