Embarking on the study of yoga is a highly personalised endeavour. Some of us come to yoga for the management of pain, some to maintain their youthful flexibility, while others seek to explore the interplay of body/mind/spirit. Regardless your inspiration, the ancient practice of Hatha Yoga has proven itself for over 2000 years as an effective means of discovery.
This 2 hour workshop will help you discover how to practice yoga safely and skilfully, address any areas where you may currently experience discomfort, and feel more relaxed in your body.
Learn how to gain the most from your flow, broken down and basic poses which are the foundation for all levels of yoga practice, and how these poses translate into more intermediate versions OR modifications appropriate for your body.
The difference of doing an asana (yoga pose) in optimal alignment, rather than simply putting yourself in the general position of the pose, is like night and day. You get more benefits and it feels amazing!
This workshop will help you to:
-Understand how precise alignment can help you feel more comfortable in your body and in your yoga practice.
-Really understand and feel the basic poses in yoga. (These poses aren’t necessarily easy or simple, but they are the foundation of all other poses.)
-Use knowledge you gain through the alignment to take your personal yoga practice to the next level: whether it means finding relief from discomfort or playing in more advanced asanas.
Rosie was introduced to yoga in her late teens by her mother whilst living in Oman, and found this a natural progression from her love of movement. She discovered her own regular practise with Sivananda teacher Robin-Ann Meyer, while studying at Falmouth College of Arts, Cornwall. Rosie's 10 year practise of has taken her to Vietnam and Costa Rica, trained with Yogacampus, London and is very excited to be training under Rod Stryker.
