Description

Art for Wellbeing MK: Christmas Angel / Fairy Sculpture Workshop

Cost: £75.00 includes all materials

Sculpture workshop, suitable for beginners or those with more experience. You don't have to be good at art to do this course. All materials are included in the price. please wear old clothes or an apron. Powertex is a water based, non toxic fabric hardener. Once cured the sculpture will be weather proof and suitable to be displayed outside. Step by step instructions and demonstration provided.

The figure is approximately 45cm / 18inches high. I provide the armature (stand) and head which we attach to the wooden stand/armature.  We then use wire for wings and pad out the body with foil and fabric. We then drape fabric soaked in powertex on to the figure.  We break for a bit of lunch while the sculpture dries off a bit.

Once the fabric is is touch dry we can add the paint effects to give form and character to the figurine.  You are welcome to bring your own trinkets such as broken jewellery /chains and embellishments to add to your figure if you wish.

By home time the sculpture will be touch dry but takes about 3 days to fully harden, then it needs to cure for three weeks to be weather proof before you put the sculpture outside (if it is intended as a garden ornament).  It shouldn't be a problem to take it home on the bus or a taxi. I provide plastic aprons so you can wrap it in that then when you get home you need to then stand it somewhere where it won't be disturbed and adjust any fabric parts that may may have bent in transit (it stays pliable for a few hours).

No experience is necessary but due to the wet sculpting method you must have a reasonable amount of dexterity in order to manipulate the fabric.

The workshop is aimed at adults but children 12+ may attend with an adult, ticket price will be the same as the adult price.

The facility is on the ground floor and wheelchair accessible.  Please advise the organiser of any disabilities or limitations so the tutor is aware and can assist where required.

Please bring a packed lunch as there is no cafe on site. Tea coffee and biscuits will be available through out the day.

FAQ

  • I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?

The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services. Alternatively, you can always find your tickets in your Billetto account that you can access in the browsers or the dedicated Billetto app. For more help with this, read here.

  • I wish to cancel my ticket and receive a refund. What should I do?

The approval of refunds is entirely at the event organiser’s discretion, and you should get in contact with the event organiser to discuss what options are available to you. To get in touch with the event organiser, simply reply to your order confirmation email or use the "Contact organiser" form on the organiser's profile. For more help with this, read here.

  • I have registered on the waiting list, what happens now?

If more tickets become available you will be notified (by email) amongst others who have joined the list. Purchasing is on a first-come first-serve basis. For more information, read here.

  • Where do I find a link to an online event?

Check your order confirmation page or order confirmation email. Usually, the organiser of the event provides the details in the order confirmation email or they might send you a follow-up email with a link to their online event. You might also want to read the event description on Billetto where an event organiser should describe how to join the event online. For more information on this, read here.

  • What is refund protection and why would I need it?

Refund Protection provides you with the assurance that if unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances interfere with your ability to attend an event you can claim a refund. For more information on this, read here.
