Whether you're an illustrator, designer or you just like to draw in your free time, sometimes it's nice to add a little bit extra to your drawings and make them move! Animated GIFs are perfect for this as they are fairly easy to make, they can be as simple or complex as you'd like and they are great for sharing.
In this 3 hour workshop you'll make your own animated GIF. After a little introduction and a look at some inspiring examples, you'll start brainstorming and sketching your own animation idea. Then you’ll draw the frames by hand and scan them in. You’ll use Photoshop to create a frame animation and export it as a GIF, ready to share on your website/social media.
In order to do this workshop you’ll have to bring with you:
A fully charged laptop with Photoshop installed and ready to work on (minimum CS5, preferably Creative Cloud. You can download a trial)
A charger for your laptop
To get the most out of this workshop, it’s worth doing some brainstorming at home and bring any ideas and sketches with you
A selection of drawing materials and paper will be provided for use during the workshop (but feel free to bring your favourite pencils/pens with you). You'll also receive a GIF guide with detailed steps, tips and references.
This workshop is suitable for beginners - but a very basic understanding of Photoshop is required. With a maximum of 5 people attending, there’ll be plenty of time for one to one help. Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
Unfortunately tickets for this workshop are non-refundable.
