Description
"The Marvellous Mr Towne" This lecture looks at the life and times of Joseph Towne, the largely self-taught Artist who worked in wax at Guy’s Hospital for over 50 years. Towne produced approximately a 1000 eerily beautiful models of normal Anatomy, Dermatology, Pathology and comparative Anatomy. Many of these models are still in existence and continue to be used for Medical education. The lecture will attempt to compare and contrast the use of these Victorian models with the wide range of modern equivalents, both physical and electronic.
Approx. 50 mins
