    Description

Join us for a unique opportunity to hear José Selgas - co-founder of the architectural practice SelgasCano - discuss his award-winning work and ideas, including the Kibera Hamlets School project in Nairobi.

SelgasCano are a critically acclaimed architectural studio and they were chosen to design the Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in 2015; previous architects selected for this include Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel and Bjarke Ingels, SelgasCano also designed Second Home in Spitalfields and Lisbon, as well as Libreria and Spain's pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2012.

In 2016, SelgasCano's new school building for Kibera Hamlets School in Nairobi was created - an education space for hundreds of orphans and severely disadvantaged children in Africa’s largest ‘urban slum’.

Second Home funded the school's construction - and we're proud to support this project that shows how ambitious architecture can help make a positive difference to people's lives.
