    Chance For Life invites you to an  evening with Evening with Ekaterina Rozhdestvenskaya

    The Read Russia programme, in conjunction with the Life Line Fund, will host a discussion between writer Ekaterina Rozhdestvenskaya and literary critic Alexander Kan to honor the memory of Rozhdestvenskaya’s father, the Soviet poet Robert Rozhdestvensky. The event will be held in Russian. There will be a Q&A and autograph session after the discussion.

    Moderator: Alexander Kan, staff writer for the BBC on arts and culture, jury member for the Bolshaya Kniga/Big Book prize.

    Ekaterina Rozhdestvenksaya—journalist, translator, photographer, writer, and designer—was born in Moscow to famous Soviet poet Robert Rozhdestvensky and literary critic Alla Kireyeva. Rozhdestvenskaya graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations with a degree in International Relations and later worked as a translator for the Soviet State Committee for Television and Radio. She has translated over a dozen novels into Russian from English and French, including the works of John Steinbeck, John Le Carré, Sidney Sheldon, and Somerset Maugham. She has taken over 2500 photographs and created 30 photography projects, most notably the project “Private Collection,” which features portraits of famous Russians politicians, TV hosts, theater and film actors, show business stars, journalists, athletes, and cultural figures dressed as characters from classical paintings.
