    Description

"Alternative Fashion of 1980-s" Panel discussion with drinks

This discussion is the part of the festival KINO-fest: the Cultural Revolution of the 80's in the USSR. The project is dedicated to the era of the 80's, and is aiming to look at this "revolutionary decade" through the prism of music, cinema, fashion and art. Festival Week 20-27 June offers a program of various events at four venues in the city in Russian and English. Please see the full festival program over here

One of KINO’s most characteristic features was their impeccable visual style. Explosion of avant-garde fashion and style was a part of overall youth energy and creativity liberation characteristic of Gorbachev’s Perestroika in the USSR. In this panel fashion historian Djurdja Bartlett, music critic Artemy Troitsky and cultural historian Alexander Kan will explore most vivid manifestations of avant-garde fashion and style in new Soviet art of the 1980s.

The panel discussion will be in English
