Magician Ali Cook takes time out from his national tour to inject magic into the morning of stay at home parents in SW14, exclusively for Ladies Who Learn.
"Forget what you think you know about comedy magicians - Ali Cook is edgy, intelligent, self-referential, caustically hilarious and one of the most sought-after illusionists on the planet." GQ Magazine

His sell-out shows have earned him The Magic Circle’s highest accolade: Member of the Inner Magic Circle with Gold Star, alongside the likes of David Copperfield.
Ali has also written and starred in the television series Now You See It (BBC1),'Penn And Teller: Fool Us' (ITV1) 'Dirty Tricks' (Channel 4) and 'Monkey Magic '(Five), both nominated for the British Comedy Awards & the Golden Rose of Montreux. 'Psychic Secrets Revealed' with Derren Brown (Five), The Secret World of Magic (Sky 1), 'the Jerry @ Trick show' with Jerry Sadowitz (Five) & Greatest Magic Tricks in the Universe Ever (Channel 5).
Doors open at 10am to give us all time to grab a coffee and relax before a 10.30am start.
Ladies who Learn organises inspiring morning lectures aimed primarily at mums (and dads) who crave a bit of intellectual stimulus after morning nursery/school drop-off. Our speakers are leaders in their fields and talks cover a broad spectrum of topics that range from A.I. to Art to Maths via Magic.
Busy parents invest so much time and energy in ferrying their children to interesting activities and at Ladies Who Learn, we believe adults deserve the same opportunity to engage with the world.
Our venues have been carefully chosen as the antidote to the church hall-nescafe-in-a-polstyrene-cup scenario. From the moment you arrive, you can forget parenting responsibilities and "to-do" lists...
Sit back in lovely surroundings, uninterupted, with an excellent coffee and listen to a host of fantastic speakers in the company of like-minded people.
Babes in arms are welcome but we kindly ask parents to pop out if they are noisy so as to keep the focus on the speaker and the onus on much sought-after tranquility.
Please come and join us!
