HJC is proud to present Sicilian born Jazz and Neo/Soul singer and songwriter Alba Plano.
Alba has fronted Forever Amy, a project featuring Amy Winehouse’s original band, touring and performing in large venues throughout Europe and the UK for the last two years. She is a sophisticated soulful singer renowned for her unique vocal texture and for being an extremely versatile artist in performing an eclectic mix of Jazz/Neo-soul, Arabic and African musical interpretations from her homeland. Alba will be playing original material at her showcase at HJC from her debut album release ‘White Lotus’, in addition to a sprinkling of her favourite classics.
Alba has been singing since her teens, and began her jazz vocal studies in her early twenties with acclaimed vocalists such as Norma Winstone, Kurt Elling, Barry Harris, Bob Stoloff, Joe Blake and Maria Pia De Vito, encouraging her to experiment with using her voice as an instrument, and leading to a fascination with contemporary jazz.
Stylistically comparable to Solange, Esperanza Spalding and Erykah Badu, Alba draws influence from a wide array of artists, including Becca Stevens, Gregory Porter, Lianne La Havas, and Jill Scott, and is also strongly influenced by Nina Simone, Bobby McFerrin and many other jazz singers. Her passion for hip-hop and neo-soul is also strongly evident as she transitions through jazzy soundscapes with clarity and vocal prowess.
Alba is based in London and is now collaborating with accomplished musicians who work with likes of Tina Turner, Freak Power, Brand New Heavies, Noel Gallagher, Jamiroquai and many more. She has performed in many prestigious venues such as Ronnie Scott's and Shepherds Bush Empire.
She has performed backing vocals for Jordan Rakei, collaborated with a host of the UK’s finest and recently completed a sell out European tour on the back of her debut EP ‘White Lotus’, that has featured on BBC Radio1xtra, BBC Radio 6, Jazz fm and many more.
Alba's live performances showcase her unique sound and uplifting energy, all accompanied by a stellar line-up of musicians!

Please note, The Club is not licensed to allow access to Children under the age of 16 after 9pm, so for evening performances, please do not book tickets for children under the age of 16. Children aged 16 and above are welcome at any time.
This is a fully seated event. Seats are not numbered and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Please NOTE, there is NO food served in the Jazz Club, there is a bar for drinks.
