Bold Tendencies, 7th-10th Floors Multi-Storey Car Park, SE15 4ST London

Afrobeat is now one of the most recognisable music genres in the world. The term was coined in the 1970s by Fela Kuti. The sound is an eclectic combination of West African musical styles, including Fuji music and highlife, infused originally with American jazz creating amazing rhythms.

This dance workshop is led by world-class performer Akay. She’ll introduce you new steps, moves in so that you can follow her choreography! Come and get your body moving to the amazing percussive soundtrack of music fromAngola, Ghana and Nigeria!

FORMATION is a new dance and fitness collective which programmes dance and fitness pop-ups and talks around the UK. We provide fresh, innovative and original classes to the best beats. We incorporate Ska, Soca, Roots Reggae, Afro-fusion, Gospel, Lovers Rock, Two-Tone, Bashment, Drum’n’Bass, Dancehall, Jungle and Grime in just the right mix to enable you to get your groove on, heart pumping and spirits high!
