The African Street-Style Festival, is an emerging annual street based event that takes place on the Calvert Avenue and Arnold Circus, located in the heart of Shoreditch, London. Set within the magnificent, historic Boundary Estate, 2015 represents its third year, with a growing reputation as a fantastic, open showcase of the influence of African creativity.

Performers:
The African Street-Style 2015 programme presents a range of artists and musicians exhibiting style, and performance that continue to highlight both current and traditional reflections of the expressive influence of the African continent - African Boy, Muntu Valdo, Bumi Thomas, Simo Lagnawi, Fabiana Cozza and Afla Sackey & Afrik Bawantu (pictured above) will be on stage.
Food
Zoe Adjonyoh, founder of ‘Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen’ and creator of all things delicious, imaginative and simply terrific will be making sure that the masses are well and truly nourished!!!
Fashion
Highly respected Shoreditch based stylist Samson SOBOYE will be combining his distinct approach with the outstanding Calvert Avenue retail fraternity (inc MAWI, Ally Capellino, Oliver Spencer…) to deliver an exciting,vibrant photo-shoot and fashion presentation.
Screening:
Calvert 22 is a unique art space and the headquarters of Calvert 22 Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art and culture from the new east: the post-Soviet world, the Balkans and the former socialist states of central and eastern Europe. Currently closed to the public for building works, the space will open its doors during the festival, for one day only, to showcase five fantastic documentaries produced by Calvert 22’s friends Stocktown Films as part of their Afripedia project — a curated online platform focused on the contemporary culture of Africa. Come along to watch some compelling, intimate stories, told by African visionary artists who are pushing the boundaries of creative self-expressions. Entrance is free. The Afripedia screenings will take place as follows:

Angola – 4:00pm
Senegal – 5:00pm
Public Art
We’re pleased to welcome the return of Lakwena Maciver to Street-Style. Lakwena’s work regularly exhibits internationally both in the gallery and on the street.
Dance
Irineu Noguiera will lend his class, imagination, choreography, culture and pure expression to Street-Style. Working with a select group of his students and accompanying drummers, Irineu will present a classic movement and draw the day to a close with an outstanding example of African infused dance from Brazil
LaRache Salon
Calvert Avenue is the retail home of talented photographer and artist Hassan Hajjaj who will once again participate at the festival, curating a distinctive Moroccan themed area
