Description

A Very Queer Christmas 2021: Bring in the Light

The Sunday Boys’ annual A Very Queer Christmas returns Saturday 4 December!

Featuring special guests and soloists and hosted by Steve Hilton

Now a staple in the queer Christmas calendar, this special concert explores the meaning of home and family during the festive period through a queer lens and perspective. We’ll explore a time of year that can be as joyous as it is difficult as we take you on a queer festive journey, through music, singing and spoken word.

Featuring music by Kate Bush, Bronski Beat and Sufjan Stevens as well as a world premiere by Ellie Showering and some more traditional festive songs too, this special concert will also include readings from the writings of U. A. FanthorpeRev. Richard Coles and Jackie Kay.

The Sunday Boys are an LGBTQ+ low voiced choir based in the heart of Manchester. Formed in 2016 by Artistic Director Michael Betteridge, the choir has performed at prestigious gigs in the city and beyond.

Organiser

The Sunday Boys was started by Michael Betteridge in January 2016 to give Manchester LGBTQ+ low voices in the city to socialise and learn to sing.

The Sunday Boys is open to any one that has a low voice and wants to sing in an inclusive and friendly environment.

Venue

Manchester Cathedral, Victoria St, M3 1SX Manchester
