A ROAD LESS TRAVELLED WITH LYNNE BLOUNT
‘Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun.’ - Mary Lou Cook
A 3-part series of workshops on:
WEDNESDAY FEB 4 at 10AM
WEDNESDAY FEB 18 at 10AM
WEDNESDAY MARCH 11 at 10AM
Details of the Series
A Road Less Travelled: Part One
In the first of these three presentations we will look at how to create impressionistic/expressionist images using the ‘In the Round’ or ‘Pep Ventosa’ technique. How do you prepare to make in-camera multiple exposures and what part can mixed media play? How can we portray the ‘essence’ of a place and what other simple creative methods can we use to create our very own unique images?
A Road Less Travelled: Part Two
What does experimentation look like? How do I process an image? This session includes a live demonstration in Lightroom and Photoshop. (N.B. this does not guarantee a great final image it is merely a window into my personal process of experimentation.) During this session we will explore a simple process we can usually trust to support unique creativity. A basic understanding of RAW processing in Lightroom as well as the blend modes and layers in Photoshop will be required to get the most out of this session.
A Road Less Travelled: Part Three
What is collage and which collage artists are the most well-known? What types of collage can be achieved using either our own images or an image created in AI? We will investigate how I make and organise my infill images. This session will include a live demonstration of AI to create a simple base image and Photoshop techniques to make the collage.

About Lynne
Lynne Blount is an experimental and expressionist photographer. Her goal is to reinterpret the world and create the essence of her subjects rather than the reality. Using her camera as a paintbrush she likes to create most of her compositions in camera, building images using Multiple Exposures and Intentional Camera Movement. This style of creativity can be serendipitous as each image is influenced by the quality of the light, colour combinations, and the order in which she uses certain camera settings. She enjoys spending time focusing on a single subject, tweaking the camera until she achieves an image she enjoys. Her main passion is nature although she enjoys making images of anything from a simple vase to a rusty drainpipe! Recently, Lynne has started experimenting with mixed media, using her own artwork as a base image for multiple exposures as well as employing numerous photographs to craft digital collages.Lynne’s photographs have received international recognition, with images exhibited in Harlow, London, Birmingham, and Switzerland. Many of her images have been featured in the Royal Photographic Society Magazine and the esteemed FRAMES Magazine. Additionally, a selection of her photographs is included in the online publication Behind the Seen by Adrian Lowe. Lynne is the Royal Photographic Society Visual Art Group Monograph Photographer 2025. Visual Art Group Monograph 2025 by Royal Photographic Society
