A chance to meet old friends, dance to the old sounds and hopefully create some of that same old atmosphere which was so magical in those long gone carefree days!

Plans have been announced to redevelop the old Sherry's/Pink Coconut building as part of the new West Street Regeneration Programme. When that happens a big part of Brighton's social history will be forever erased.

The building has stood since 1867 and in it's time has served as a concert hall, a cinema, a roller rink and of course a nightclub. In 1919 it became Sherry's - Brighton's first Palais de Dance - and in 1983 after a refurbishment it became The Pink Coconut. It has assumed other identities including Paradox, Tru, Creation and Hedkandi but most Brightonians of all ages will recognise either Sherry's or The Pink Coconut.
It would be sad indeed to see the site disappear without one last hurrah. It has probably brought more couples together than any single premises in the city and there's no doubt it conjures up many happy memories of carefree days for literally thousands of people.
We aim to contact as many of the old staff, management and customers as possible and the sounds of your youth will be played by some of the very same DJs from back in the day.
