Description
Steve Harris burst on to the comedy scene in 1998, winning the coveted North West Comedian of the year title just three months into his comedy career. He quickly gained the respect of the heavyweights of the comedy world and was soon performing as tour support for Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas and Lee Evans. Steve has headlined all the top UK comedy clubs and kept audiences laughing in far-flung corners of the globe like Hong Kong and Australia. A regular fixture at the Comedy Store, we're delighted to welcome Steve to Seven Miles Out for his ALIS debut.
'Fancy dancing, quick one-liners and a whole lot of charisma' (Daily Post)
'Quite simply, fantastically funny' (BBC)
In the 10 years Paul Savage has been performing comedy he's played all over Britain, from the highlands of Scotland to the bottom tip of Cornwall, and even a tour of English speaking venues in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. He's done six runs at the Edinburgh Festival, starting with the the Free Tea and Biscuits Show, which set a record for having the most genuinely homeless people in one audience front row (7). He also performed his debut hour “Cheerful Shambles” in 2013 which was well received by audiences and critics and had no homeless people in (as far as he’s aware). Since then, he’s performed the critically acclaimed fringe shows “All The Jokes In The Bible” (2014, and 2016) and “Tired and Emotional” (2015). He is also the co-wrote and starred in the profane, blasphemous game show Hell to Play (2015).
“A wonderful way with words” BBC
“Genuinely brilliant. Writes a good joke, draws a good cartoon: an all round hoot” THE GUARDIAN
In the middle section of our show we are delighted to have James Meehan (BBC, Comedy Central) of the award-winning Gein’s Family Gift Shop coming down to preview some material from his new solo Edinburgh Fringe show, and we also welcome newcomer Tara Donelon. Your compère for the evening is Danny Sutcliffe.
