A Happy Crowd Are We! A Children’s Cinema Club Show
Just like children in Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate used to do in cinemas years ago, we’ll be watching SAMMY’S SUPER T-SHIRT alongside short films, a competition, badges, snacks and a club song!
12-year-old Sammy (Reggie Winch) is determined not to let his small size hold him back from his sporting dreams. With a big race coming up and his best pal Marvin (Lawrie Mark) on his team, he’s sure that all he needs is extra exercise effort and his lucky tiger print t-shirt and he’ll be ready for anything. But it’s when bullies run off with his t-shirt and chuck it through a window that things start to get really interesting… the window belongs to a research laboratory and something strange happens to Sammy’s t-shirt in there which, when he puts it on, seems to suddenly give him the superpowers he’s been dreaming of.
SAMMY’S SUPER T-SHIRT was made in 1978 by the Children's Film Foundation, a UK organisation started in 1951 to make shorter feature films for children to watch at Saturday morning cinema clubs! Since then some CFF films like the much-loved story of Sammy and his much-loved t-shirt have become cult classics.
This event was curated in collaboration with Creative & Media students from Broadstairs College as part of MAGIC HOURS, a film heritage project led by the Palace Cinema Broadstairs exploring and celebrating the films, cinemas and the many pop-up places to see film in Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate, 1896 to today. It includes collecting cinema memories, historical research, walking tours, film screenings, talks and a ‘work in progress’ summary on the Palace website!

I have not received my ticket via email. What should I do?
The first thing to do is check your spam/junk filters and inboxes. Your tickets were sent as an attachment and can be thought of as spam by some email services.
