We sit down with Shafak to talk about her latest novel, Three Daughters of Eve, as well as the many issues she is a passionate campaigner for, including true democracy, and the rights of women, minorities and LGBT people worldwide.
She has published 15 books which have been translated into more than forty languages, including bestsellers The Bastard of Istanbul and The Forty Rules of Love. She has been longlisted for the Orange Prize, MAN Asian Prize, the Baileys Prize and shortlisted for the Independent Foreign Fiction Prize.
Away from the literary word Shafak’s critical thinking and eloquence is also inspiring a generation of intelligent thinkers, providing a strong voice for ordinary people at a time of geo-political confusion.
