The Show:
One hundred years since the end of the First World War, 300 to 1 looks at our view of war, death and glory. Through the eyes of fifteen-year-old Elliot, we look at the way wars have been presented through history, from poetry to movies, and ask which version of the idea of war wins out: The ugly horror or the patriotic glory?
Playing upwards of fifteen characters, the award-winning Corin Rhys Jones directly engages with the audience in a funny and moving, high-energy performance. The piece is extremely light on its feet, requiring only a sturdy table and an amp. Everything else is simply the performer on stage. The running time is approximately 45 minutes.
Selected for the 2018 Thespis International Monodrama Festival, Kiel, Germany

Highly recommend this piece of Theatre.” ● “Saw the show on Sunday, absolutely loved it - clever, funny and talented acting! Would definitely recommend!” ● “You can feel the contempt for war of Sassoon and Owens through this tour de force performance. Gripping and emotional. Recommended.” ● “Brilliant. One man, mesmerising and convincing as several different characters on a tiny stage (despite noise from other stages it has to be said). Funny and entertaining, poignant and thought-provoking.”
