“THE1-2-3-4 festival has earned a solid reputation that makes it stand out from the seasonal clamour. It brings together a typically east London combo of indie attitude and artiness, not unlike a live action fanzine.” - METRO

“The annual summer festival the east end of London waits for has come upon us once again...It brings to the capital a staggering array of the best underground and wayward acts around, playing alongside international groups and artists of renowned stature.” - NME

“THE1-2-3-4 festival heralds the re-emergence of a DIY subculture it has sparked the return of a non-conformist aesthetic that was prevalent in the punk movement.” - THE INDEPENDENT

On September 3rd this year East London’s infamous music event THE 1-2-3-4 FESTIVAL is happening again at their new park site - Three Mills Island, Bow, London.

The festival that started in 2007 showcasing early performances by the likes of Florence and the Machine and Crystal Fighters returns after a short hiatus in a new iconic park setting.

1-2-3-4 has teamed up with legendary event producer Rob Hallett and his team of expert facilitators at Robomagic to build on the 1-2-3-4 cult status and create a new, bigger, better festival experience.

Festival partner Rob Hallett says ‘We’re excited to be working with Sean Mclusky on bringing back the legendary 1-2-3-4 festival to London, combining exciting emerging acts with established favorites is a recipe completely in keeping with the ethos of Robomagic.’

    Announcing this years line-up:

Psych stalwarts The Jesus and Mary Chain play their only festival headline of the summer next to UK indie giants The Cribs, while upcoming bands such as The Wytches and TOY play alongside post-punk heroes Gang of Four, Carl Barat from the Libertines also performs new songs with his band The Jackals. Providing these heavy-hitters also allows the 1-2-3-4 to do what they do best – pick the hottest new live bands and showcase their music where they’d otherwise not be able to. 1-2-3-4 have chosen some of the best in new cutting-edge music from the UK scene including Milk Teeth, Claw Marks, Virgin Kids, Telegram, Love Buzzard, Nova Twins, Blinders, Phobophobes, plus hot tips from the USA including No Joy and Nancy Pants, and with more bands and DJ’s to be added this years line up promises to deliver the goods.

Guest DJ’s will also be spinning tracks through the day including D/R/U/G/S, Garry The Tall from NTS radio, and special guest DJ / host Jim Sclavunos of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Grinderman.

The now legendary 1-2-3-4 Festival was one of the most important events of the year for the regular London gig goer, fusing the freshest in upcoming bands with some of the biggest contemporary artists of the time. Promoter Sean McLusky started the festival back in 2007 with one plan, to bring together the true originators with the new breed of emerging bands, new artists playing alongside the musicians that inspired them, finding the international artists that still resonate with todays scene while laying the foundations of the future with the bands of today.

1-2-3-4 are also known to organise unique one-off sets, collaborations, reformations and special appearances, so expect the 2016 festival to be full of surprises.

The festivals new park location of Three Mills Island in Bow is completely surrounded by rivers, the site will boast a festival size main stage, big top stages and just added is a pit party style new bands stage, with audience surrounding in 360, there will also be secret sessions and surprise guests across the site.

Great bars and the best street food outlets top off the proceedings to make for a unique festival experience in this amazing, landscaped, atmospheric, urban island setting.
