Intimate,immersive, experiences,without parallel.- Bachtrack
Through thrilling live performances, allied with daring programming and a brazen approach to convention The Manchester Collective bring contemporary classical music to unusual venues.
Following a critically acclaimed debut tour, Manchester Collective presents this strictly limited revival of 100 Demons.
A joint project with electronic artist Vessel and composer Daniel Elms, 100 Demons is a rare evening of breathtaking collaborative performance, exploring the space between live strings and electronics.
The programme sees the Collective perform two highly-anticipated commissions: Elms’ titular, illusory 100 Demons, commissioned for and by Manchester Collective, and Vessel’s exploratory new work – The Birth of the Queen. These works sit alongside a tour de force set that will stretch this augmented string quartet to its limits.
Many people told them that this project was impossible. It’s too hard to start a new arts organisation, let alone a movement. Classical music just isn’t relevant anymore. Young people don’t care about culture. Bring it on. And welcome to the new season.
